Alibaba Cloud Builds New Data Centres in 5 Countries, Entering Mexico Mkt

BABA-SW (09988.HK)  +1.100 (+1.408%)    Short selling $407.00M; Ratio 13.207%   (BABA.US)      's Alibaba Cloud announced that it will invest in new data centres in South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Mexico. This marked the entry of Alibaba Cloud to the Mexican market, where it will simultaneously build local ecosystems and service capability systems.

The new round of overseas infrastructure will focus on AI infrastructure, sprinting towards a larger global deployment. During the same period, the international version of its Bailian foundation model service platform will be launched soon, providing one-stop, fully managed large model customisation and application services. The latest version of Alibaba Cloud's base foundation model base, Tongyi Qianwen 2.5, will also provide APIs through the Bailian platform.

To date, Alibaba Cloud operates 89 availability zones in 30 regions around the world. With this new round of investment, its global footprint will increase to 31 regions and 95 availability zones worldwide, covering the world's major economically active markets. In the next 3 years, the cloud arm will continue to invest in the construction of more overseas infrastructures and strengthen its service capabilities.
