BABA-SW (09988.HK) Resurges ~7%; Multiple Revered Investors Add Holdings

BABA-SW (09988.HK)  +6.000 (+7.528%)    Short selling $1.05B; Ratio 11.081%   opened gapping higher by 6.65% this morning after closing down 3.6% yesterday (16 May). It peaked at $85.8, a new high since mid-October last year. The stock now trades at $85.15, surging 6.84%, with 35.6374 million shares traded, involving $3.033 billion.

Michael Burry, a veteran American hedge fund manager, disclosed that his investment company Scion Asset Management increased its holdings in JD.com (JD.US)      , BABA (BABA.US)      and BIDU (BIDU.US)      in 1Q24. The company added 50,000 ADRs to its holdings in BABA, bringing the total value of its holdings in BABA to US$9 million as of 1Q. BABA is Scion's second-largest position.

Billionaire David Tepper's hedge fund Appaloosa Management more than doubled its position in BABA in 1Q24, making BABA the top position in its US$6.7 billion equity portfolio.

H&H International Investment, the investment account managed by Duan Yongping, also disclosed a purchase of 886,000 shares of BABA ADRs.
