AstraZeneca (AZN.US) said it has begun to stop selling its Covid vaccine Vaxzevria globally and will retract the marketing authorisation for the vaccine in Europe, as a result of the development of several vaccines against mutated Covid viruses and a surplus of available boosters, which has led to a decline in demand for Vaxzevria.
According to previous reports, AstraZeneca admitted in court documents that the vaccine can cause side effects such as blood clots and low platelet counts.
