The main festivities of the "JD 618" shopping festival will start at 8 pm tonight (17 June). JD-SW (09618.HK) +1.600 (+1.415%) Short selling $356.14M; Ratio 28.324% (JD.US) announced that it will invest in addition of over RMB10 billion in subsidies for users, including a "Super Surprise Red Packet" with an amount as high as RMB3,800 for each red packet. The red packets were available for users to collect and use starting Saturday night (15 June).
This year's JD 618 festival also marked JD's 21st anniversary. To celebrate this JD-originated event, a "Birthday Gift" campaign will also be launched for the shopping festival. Users with birthdays in June who place orders on 18 June and pay using JD Pay can enjoy random free orders, with a free amount of up to RMB50,000.
According to JD, the biggest promotional discounts in history will be dished out tonight. In addition, the "JD 618 Happy Night" programme, jointly organised by Hunan TV, Mango TV and JD, will be broadcast live at 8 pm tonight on Hunan TV, Mango TV and JD's own app.
