US Commerce Secretary: US May Ban Import of CN Connected Vehicles

US Commerce Secretary, Gina Raimondo, said that the US could take extreme action, and ban China's connected autos or impose restrictions on them, according to Reuters.

The US Department of Commerce is currently reviewing public comments on a US government investigation initiated in February to assess whether Chinese auto imports pose national security risks.

The US Department of Commerce would have to digest all the data before assessing what action is needed, Raimondo said without a timeline.

Speaking at a US House of Representatives hearing, Raimondo expressed concern about China's connected vehicles, which could collect a large amount of data on Americans.
