According to mainland media reports, Shenzhen Shell and BYD Electric Vehicle Investment Company Limited has recently undergone industrial and commercial changes, with its registered capital increasing from RMB300 million to RMB400 million. The company also announced that Zhang Hong had stepped down as legal representative and chairman of the board and was succeeded by Zhang Le.
It is learnt that the said company was established in June 2014 under the name of "Shenzhen BYD Electric Vehicle Investment Company Limited". Shell (China) Limited acquired a stake in that company in December 2022 and changed its name in April 2023 to the current name.
Relevant reports also disclosed that the above company is now 80% owned by Shell (China) Limited and 20% by BYD Auto Industry Company Limited.
