Big techs escalated again Monday, with the Nasdaq touching its sixth consecutive record close and the S&P 500 hitting an all-time high.
The DJIA closed 188 pts, or 0.5%, higher at 38,778. The S&P 500 closed 41 pts, or 0.8%, higher at 5,473. The Nasdaq closed 168 pts, or 1%, higher at 17,857.
The tech SPDR fund will be adjusted, with NVIDIA (NVDA.US) 's weighting rising to its second-highest, and hitting a new high of US$133.73 on Monday, but the stock ebbed back to end the day 0.7% lower.
The rest of the "Magnificent Seven" ended higher. Microsoft (MSFT.US) rose 1.3%, Apple (AAPL.US) gained 2%, Alphabet (GOOG.US) grew 0.2%, Amazon (AMZN.US) lifted 0.2%, and Meta (META.US) added 0.5%.
Broadcom (AVGO.US) surged 5.4% and logged a new high.
